Ketam Batu Baruh Batang; Geramak Rau Dalam Lubang
"The crab hides under the fallen log; the mud crab hides inside the muddy hole"
Handwoven ikat silk on backstrap loom, using natural dyes of akar penawar landak (fibraurea tinctorial root) and tarum (marsdenia tinctorial).
This is a popular pattern dreamt by the ancestors of Rumah Gare, and replicated many times by the weavers of the longhouse. It depicts a scene oftentimes sighted in the river running in front of their village.
This pua kumbu may be used as a shawl or wall hanging, and it evokes happy sentiments.
